Susan Jael Dick (Kuehl), born July 1, 1931, passed away peacefully on January 18, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.

Susan met the love of her life, Richard Dick, when they were just 15 years old. High school sweethearts, they married on July 21, 1952, and went on to share a devoted marriage that spanned more than seven decades. Susan and Richard spent most of their lives together in Elm Grove, Wisconsin, where they built a life rooted in love, family, and enduring partnership.

Susan worked part time as a banker and bookkeeper before choosing to devote herself fully to raising her family after the birth of her two children. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother, known for her steady presence, kindness, and thoughtful care for those around her.

She had many interests and hobbies that brought her joy throughout her life. Susan loved sewing, bowling, golfing, participating in card clubs, women’s club activities, and volunteering at church. She especially enjoyed spending time playing games with her family, including Yahtzee, Sequence, and Royal Rummy. One of her most cherished traditions was creating detailed Christmas stockings each year for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, a labor of love that became a treasured family keepsake.

Susan and Richard shared a love of travel, spending four months each winter in Arizona and taking memorable trips to Florida, Alaska, and Europe, along with many visits to their beloved lake home in Eagle River, Wisconsin.

For the past three and a half years, Susan resided at Woodland Hills in Hudson, where she truly thrived. She loved her senior living community and deeply appreciated the activities, friendships, and care provided there.

Susan is survived by her daughters, Kathy (Paul) Anderson and Christine Larkin; her grandchildren, Melissa (Andy) Chapman, Emily (Jeff) Higgins, Megan (Justin) Ziegler, Jennifer (Jeremy) Arnold, Jason Larkin, and Jackie (Brad) Douglas; and her great-grandchildren, Steven Chapman, Grace Chapman, Ella Chapman, Calvin Higgins, Cameron Higgins, James Higgins, Brekken Ziegler, Bailey Ziegler, Zoey Ziegler, Zachary Ziegler, Layla Arnold, Presley Arnold, Austin Larkin, and Maddie Douglas.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Richard Dick, and her parents, Edward and Lois Kuehl.

Susan will be remembered for her warmth, devotion to family, and the many joyful moments she created for those she loved. Her legacy lives on in the memories she leaves behind and the family traditions she so lovingly upheld.

A memorial service for Susan will be held at Hudson United Methodist Church (1401 Laurel Ave., Hudson, WI 54016) on Saturday, January 31, 2026. The service will begin at 11:00 a.m., with visitation starting at 10:00 a.m. A luncheon will follow the service.
