Dear John:

In everyone's life, there is a special teacher who sparks the love of learning and keeps us young as we grow older. Ms. Ponder was that wonderful Kindergarden teacher that me and many others hold dear in our hearts. Her spirit and positive energy that she used to teach us will always be with me. I remember her playing that piano and singing songs with us all in her room. Her enthusiasm made me want to take piano and I did for 20 years.

She also got me to sing in front of the entire school in a Kimono. I didn't know anything about stage fright so I just sang for Mrs. Ponder. When I was older, Mr. Hollingsworth said he was in tears after I sang.

She filled the kindergarden room with love and fun. I will always hold her as the most special teacher I have ever had.

Love,

Ken Kikuchi
