Ruth Seiler Obituary

SEILER Ruth Ellis, 94, Lexington, widow of the late Edward Albert Seiler, passed away Oct. 13, 2017. Born to the late Paul L. and Theckla C. Drach Ellis on Jan. 23, 1923 in Covington, KY. Ruth was a long-time member of Southern Hills United Methodist Church. Memberships included: Charter member Lexington Singers, past president Evergreen Garden Club, service unit chairman and cadet leader Girl Scouts, associate member Fayette Co. Homemakers and member Homemaker Chorus, volunteer Good Sam Hospital, Bluegrass Lost Chord Club, Blue Grass Gem and Mineral Club and a Donovan Scholar. Survivors include one son Michael J. (Marilyn) Seiler of Lexington; two daughters, Sally Ann (Robert) Hicks of North Carolina and Susan Jane (Herb) Burns of North Carolina; three grandchildren, Robert Hicks, Herbie Burns III, and Anita Marie Teague; 8-1/2 great-grandchildren (one is in the oven); and one sister-in-law Anna Ellis. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by one grandson David E. Burns, and three brothers, Paul, John R., and James E. Ellis. Memorial service Saturday, November 4th at 2pm at Southern Hills UMC. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice, Girl Scouts, or your favorite charity. www.milwardfuneral.com
