My sister told me of Sammy's passing. He talked my parents into buying me a sports car when I was a teenager in college. He was great fun and had the gift of gab. He will be missed by all. My prayers to his family and friends.

Just learned today of Sam's passing. I have know him for years from school at Bryan Station to his work with the Green's and Lawrence families. He was a plain spoken no nonsense sort of guy and it will sure be sad to not see him now and then as I did. RIP my friend!

A friend called and told me of Sammy's passing. I was one of the guys that ran around with Sammy during our high school years. He was a good friend and will be missed by many.

Sorry to hear of Sammy's passing. My heart goes out to his family and friends. Sammy and I met in the sixth grade at Picadome Elem. We became best friends right off the bat. We were always into something! I can remember hoping for snow so the school would close so we could go rabbit hunting where Turffland Mall is now. That was considered in the country then. Two sixth graders walking down the road with shoot guns! Wouldn't work now. We went to Hamilton Hall in the seventh grade which was on North Broadway. Eight grade we went to Lafayette which had split sessions. We went from 1 till 7:30. The ninth grade we went the first class at Jessie Clark. 10,11,12, we went to Lafayette when we felt like it. We both already thought we knew more than the teachers! During and after school Sammy worked for his brother Ralph at Wheels Inc. where they had the hottest cars in the 60's.Sammy loved his cars, cleaned and polished them all the time. His brother Ralph taught Sammy and I how to detail cars and make them look like new.I am sure we drove Ralph crazy! My Mom and Dad considered Sammy a part of the family. There are so many memories I have of Sammy that it would take forever to to tell them. We lost contact in the late 80's, but I thought of him often. I will miss him greatly. Wish we had of hooked back up but I guess we will someday! I have pictures of Sammy that I would like to share with the family, if you would like them contact me at [email protected]. A sad time for all of us. Gary C Wolber

I was very saddened to hear Sammy had passed. I have great memories of Sammy as we were part of a group who grew up in Lexington, and weathered our teenage years so long ago. Sammy had a great sense of humor, and we shared many laughs. I know he will be missed by all of us who shared in those times. Rest in peace Sammy.
