Welles Bradley Obituary

Welles Bradley
April 28, 1990 - October 7, 2021
Wilmington, North Carolina - Welles Buchanan Bradley of Wilmington, NC died October 7, 2021. Welles was born April 28, 1990 in Lexington, KY.
In addition to her daughter, Liberty Lynne Lewis, she is survived by her parents, Dr. Barrett Blake Bradley of Lexington, KY and Dr. Helle M. Bradley (Gary Karbousky) of Colorado Springs, CO. She is further survived by her uncle and namesake, Balon Buchanan Bradley, JD (Anne), and cousins Alison Bradley and Katharine Bradley Gulamova (Hasanjon), all of Dallas, TX.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Gene Buchanan Bradley, Ph.D., Betty Ann Edgerton, Ph. D. (George), Frederick, and Cecile Grzybowski.
Welles was a graduate of The Lexington School and Henry Clay High School, as well as attending Sayre School.
Welles was a devoted mother, beautiful and unselfish. She was intelligent as her mother and quick-witted as her father. With whom she was friends, she brought the joie de vivre. She will be sorely missed. Her free spirit will move among us, inspire us all of our days, and can be seen in the eyes of sweet Liberty. She has passed, and what we are left with is love.
A memorial service is planned in Lexington for Saturday, October 23, 2021 at 4:00 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Mark Davis will be officiating. No flowers are needed; they are blooming in heaven.
If you please, make a contribution in the name of Welles Bradley and Liberty Lewis to the Kelly House, 1507 Martin Street, Wilmington, NC.

Welles,

It´s been years, I thought about you today and decided to look you up here. It´s me, Tiffany. I know we didn´t get a chance to meet each other in person before you were sadly passed away. But the little time I had gotten to know you, talk to you weekly on the phone for a few months and learn you as a person, you became very near and dear to my heart. I couldn´t wait to get the kids together to meet their new sister Liberty but sadly I didn´t get that opportunity. You are loved, you are missed and I pray Libby Lib is reminded daily of what a beautiful person and mother you were! Rest Well Beautiful !

Dr. Bradley, You probably don't remember me but I worked with you as a nurse in the OB Clinic at UKMC in the 1980's. I read with sadness, that Welles had died and wanted to send my deepest sympathies. The loss of a child is just unimagineable. Blessings at this difficult time.

Dr. Bradley-

You delivered my first child, Stephen Wells, 28 years ago. Whereas I did not know your daughter, if she was anything like you, I am sure she was bright, fun loving and well liked by all that knew her. My family’s love and prayers go out to you in this difficult time.

I am so very sorry for your loss. Welles was always a light that I looked forward to seeing as she and Tavis were in school together. I ALWAYS benefitted from her very sweet, shy smile when she saw me. I did not know her well, yet my life is better for having those brief encounters... snap shots in time as she grew up.
I wish you all many wonderful memories to fill some of those empty places in your hearts when you are ready.

Blake. Our hearts are bleeding along side of yours. We know just how much Welles meant to you. You are not only an incredible friend but you are and will forever be an outstanding father, grandfather and everything else in between to all those that are fortunate enough to be in your life. Through the sadness comes the power of true love and what it means to be by ones side in the most difficult of times and the most joyful of times. Even though we are miles apart, we think of you often. Know that we will hold Welles inside our minds forever and we will continue to be there for you and Liberty. We love you in so many ways and for so many reasons. Sandy, Jason, Miles and Hunter Heymann and Rick, Lyle, Logan and Henry Wolf. We love you Blake Bradley. Feel our arms wrapped around you dear friend. XO
