Watched the KY Derby, and was remembering the time I worked w/ Thoroughbreds, and of course remembering my favorite trainers. Mr. Shorter was the very first trainer who took me from hot walker to groom. He and his son Tim taught me so much. I have been away from racing for many years, but the fond memories I have are because of the time spent w/ Mr. Shorter, and his son Tim. The chance he gave me to learn was so appreciated. Always a gentleman in every sense of the word. I am so sorry to learn of his passing. Condolences to his family. He truly was a wonderful man.

Sincerest condolences to the family and friends over the loss of Bill. He was such a sweet soul with the heart of a Thoroughbred, like the horses which were his life's work. Rest in peace, Bill.
