Charles Pettner Obituary

Charles A. Pettner May 26, 1944 – September 8, 2025 Charles "Charlie" A. Pettner, 81, of Lebanon, passed away on Monday, September 8, 2025. He was born on May 26, 1944, in Shields, North Dakota, to Alfred and Jennie (Stoltz) Pettner. In 1948, the family moved to Reedsport, Oregon, where Charlie spent much of his childhood before settling in Lebanon in the mid-1960s. He worked for many years in the local mills before finishing his career as a log truck driver. Charlie deeply loved his family and friends and treasured time spent with them. He also enjoyed the outdoors-especially hunting, fishing, camping, and traveling. He is survived by his wife, Sue (Robertson) Pettner; his brother, Delbert; his children, Cara Barnes, Cheryl Jones, Peggy Davis, and John Friend; eight grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers Bill, Leonard, Marvin, and Clarence; and his sisters Ann, Florence, Lillian, Evelyn, Katherine, and Maryanne. A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, September 18, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Santiam Place Event Hall, 139 S. Main St., Lebanon, OR 97355.
