Marjorie Kaiser Obituary

May 21, 1925-October 2, 2023 Marjorie "Marge" Cover Kaiser, age 98, long time resident of Junction City, passed away of natural causes in Hillsboro Oregon with her son Kip at her side. Marge was born in Harvey Illinois to Clyde and Pearl Cover. She had a younger sister, Delores Weaver, who preceded her in death. She attended Harvey Township High School where she met her husband Vernon Kaiser. Vern enlisted in the Navy and was stationed at an airbase in Washington State. Upon his return to Harvey, he and Marge were married on March 24, 1945. That union lasted 73 years before Vern passed away in February of 2018. In 1946 they has their first son Jim in Harvey, he passed away in November of 2018. Marge and Vern moved just outside Junction City in 1950 and ran the gas station owned by Vern's parents. In 1952 they moved into town on Prairie Road, and had their second son Kip. Thus began many years of being the hub of the neighborhood where kids gathered and played sports and raced go carts. Kip often referred to this time as "the wonder years." Marge worked as a cook at Central Elementary School for 19 years before going to work for the town dentist, Dr. McNeil until her retirement. In her retirement, she and Vern enjoyed many camping trips with a large group of friends. They eventually bought a fifth wheel and went south to snowbird. She loved to garden and always had many beautiful flowers in her yard. Marge was active in the United Methodist Church, was a member of the Business and Professional Women's Organization and the Junction Booster Club. She enjoyed participating in the yearly Scandinavian Festival, and watching U of O football. Marge was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She was a sweet and loving lady, which continued through her final days. Marge is survived by her son Kip (Terri) of Beaverton, daughter in law Caroline Kaiser, her four grandchildren, Casey, Sarah, Dawn and Jenifer, three great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 2, 2023 st 4:00 PM at the United Methodist Church in Junction City. Contributions in her name may be made to the Junction City Booster Club PO Box 101 Junction City, OR 97448 or to the Junction City Local Aid.
