Barry Dibble Obituary

Barry Frank Dibble, 79, of Kasson, MN, died Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at his home. Barry was born March 23, 1946, to Ralph "Bud" and Helen (Smith) Dibble in New York City, NY and spent his childhood in Kasson, MN. After graduating from Kasson-Mantorville High School in 1964, Barry attended St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN where he obtained a degree in Chemical Engineering, before he enlisted in the US Coast Guard. He then went on to obtain his bachelor's degree in Mortuary Science from the University of Minnesota and returned to Kasson to work with his father at the Dibble Funeral Home, later becoming owner. He also served many years as the Dodge County Coroner. Barry married Brenda Hughes and together they had 3 children. They later divorced. In 1989, he married Patricia (Derby) Dibble. Barry loved his dogs, motorcycles, cars and Minnesota Gophers football. If he saw you in town, he was quick to say hello, took a genuine interest in how you were doing, and always had a joke on hand to share. He cared deeply about the families he helped through the funeral home; working hard to make sure they received the best service possible. He truly enjoyed his family; gathering at the pool where he could watch the grandchildren swim and visit friends and family were a particular favorite. He never missed an opportunity to tell his family he loved them. Barry is survived by his wife, Patricia Dibble; children, Lisa (Rob) Vivian, Christopher (Jackie) Dibble, Nicholas (Brianna) Dibble, David (Kelly) Derby, and Matthew (Kelly) Derby; as well as 13 grandchildren, Liam Vivian, Skye Vivian, Cammi (Justice) Ehler, Paige Kobi, Alex Ehler, Adrian Dibble, Charles Dibble, Irelynd Dibble, Amanda (Joshua) Mentzel-Derby, Erik (Tannah) Torgerson, Logan Derby, Ian Regal, and Autumn Derby. He is also survived by sister, Denise (Roger) Bierlen; as well as nephew, Jamie Bierlen and nieces, Sue (John) Boswell and Tiffany (Dan) Bierlen. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bud and Helen Dibble; grandson, Blaise Dibble; and nephew, Ryan Bierlen. A memorial service in honor of Barry will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 10, 2025, at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, 101 1st St NE, in Kasson, MN, with the Rev. Dr. Colin Maltbie officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Friday, May 9, 2025, at St. Peter's Episcopal Church and one hour prior to his service on Saturday.
