Carol Daleske Obituary
Carol Rae Daleske, 80, of Hayfield, MN passed away on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at Mayo Clinic St. Mary's Campus in Rochester, MN.
Carol Rae Ochse was born January 8, 1945, in rural Dexter, MN the daughter of William and Carrie (Ryks) Ochse. Carol was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Dexter, MN. She attended a "1 room school" District #98, later graduating from Elkton High School. Carol was united in marriage to Herbert Daleske on March 31, 1963, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Elkton. Carol and her husband moved to the Oslo area in 1965. Carol was a member of West St. Olaf Church for many years teaching Sunday school, Luther League Advisor, Circle Officer, Counsil Member. Carol later became a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Hayfield, MN, when they moved to Hayfield. Carol and her family were privileged to raise many foster children in their home.
Carol worked for Farmers State Bank in Elkton, 1st State Bank of Rochester, and Hayfield Schools retiring in July 2004. Carol enjoyed wintering in Texas, collecting loon objects, camping, fishing, cooking, taking photos, gardening, and most of all spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Carol is survived by her children, Karla (Jim) Schultz of New Prague, MN, Brian Daleske of Des Moines, IA, Heidi (Chris) Tallos of Plano, TX, Nadine Cooley, Julie Johnson; four granddaughters, Jessica (Isaiah) Jones, Mackenzie Carlsten, Courtney Tallos, and Natalie Tallos; three grandsons, Otto Daleske, Nicholas Tallos, and Carter Tallos; nieces, Janice (Rick) Christianson, Linda (Jeremy) Durham; many great nieces and nephews; many cousins in Germany which she had the privilege of meeting in the summer of 2011.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Daleske; parents; and two brothers, Bill, Billy; and a sister, Margaret Briethbarth.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 9, 2025, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 104 1st Street SE in Hayfield, with Pastor Kristen Anderson officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of her service at the church. Inurnment will be in St. John's Lutheran Church in Elkton, MN. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the donor's choice.
