Deanna Coyle Obituary

Deanna Coyle, 75, of Byron, MN, passed away September 30, 2025 at home surrounded by family. Deanna was born on July 22, 1950 to Harold and Evelyn (Shaw) Nedved in Miller, SD. She grew up on her father's ranch south of Miller on Elm Creek. She spent her childhood enjoying farm life with her six siblings. She also shared stories of difficulties of farm life, such as having to walk two miles to the nearest country school where sometimes nasty snowstorms could spring up suddenly. Later, after the Nedved Ranch lost their young calf crop to a bad snowstorm, the family moved to a farm north of Woonsocket. After completing high school in Alpena, SD, Deanna attended Huron Regional Medical Hospital for training as a nursing assistant. While her future husband, Dale Coyle, was serving his country, she worked in Huron and later at an Omaha, Nebraska hospital caring for disabled children. She and Dale were married in January 1971 after he returned from service in Vietnam. Deanna's first child, Dawn, was born in a military hospital at Offutt Air Force Base in 1971. Then her son, Daniel, was born in 1973 at Mildenhall Air Force Base in East Anglia, England. The family lived in a quaint rental on Cake Street outside Laxfield, England. The neighbors were very helpful for the American couple living next door. Deanna enjoyed visits with close friends with one acting as Grandpa for the young woman far from home. When Bentwaters Air Force Base closed in 1973, they moved to Moffet Air Field outside Sunnyvale, California. After eight years in the military, the family separated from military service and moved to Vermillion so Dale could attend the University of South Dakota. Deanna attended Dakota Wesleyan University while also caring for their 2 children. Deanna worked in many roles since that time, but she was always first and foremost a versatile homemaker who provided a loving home base for her husband and children. She also filled caretaking roles for family members in times of sickness or need. After buying her folk's farm at Woonsocket and raising cattle for 12 years, Deanna and Dale relocated to Kasson, Minnesota in 2009 to be closer to their children and grandchildren. For all those who loved Deanna, a light has gone out in the world. As she always said there is a season for everything. She would like us to remember the good times and allow any sad memories to fade. Deanna is survived by her husband, Dale Coyle; daughter, Dawn (Mark) Clark; grandchildren (Jason and Allison); brothers, Bill (Joanie) Nedved and Braden (Darlene) Nedved; sisters, Jane (Roger) Rhodes and Janet (Mike) Fassler; brothers-in-law, Ben, Alan, Larry, Loren, Ed, and Jim; sister-in-law, Patricia; and numerous nephews and nieces. Deanna was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Evelyn (Shaw) Nedved; brother, Arnold Nedved; sister, Dixie (Arnold) Coyle; and son, Daniel Coyle. Deanna's final wishes were that she be cremated. She expressed her desire that her family and friends enjoy time together in memory of her. A celebration of life is being planned to be held at a later date. Finally, the family wishes to express a heartful thank you for the many caring visits by Mayo Clinic Hospice staff during Deanna's final months
