Delores L. Lyon

Delores Lee Lyon, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on June 12, 2025, at Hansen Family Hospital in Iowa Falls, Iowa. A graveside service will be held on Friday, June 20, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Alden Cemetery, 15747 125th St, Alden, Iowa. Please consider bringing a lawn chair to the cemetery. Following the service, the family warmly invites you to join them at her beloved family farm for a light lunch and time to share memories and celebrate Dee's life. Woodley Funeral Home and Crematory of Iowa Falls is caring for Dee and her family. Delores (Dee) was born on March 16, 1948, in Hampton, Iowa, to Genevieve and Berle Anderson. She grew up on a farm just a few miles north of the current Lyon farm. She graduated from Dows High School, and later earned her Associate's Degree from Ellsworth College. On June 30, 1967, Dee married Jerry Lee Lyon, her lifelong partner and friend. Together they built a beautiful family grounded in deep and abiding love. Dee was a devoted homemaker who poured her heart into her family, home and the family farm. She had a gift for crafting and sewing, and her beautiful flowers and vegetable gardens reflected her delight in simple things. Dee was always willing to lend a helping hand. She gave generously of her time and energy, and her kind spirit was felt by all who knew her. Living on the farm brought her great happiness and peace. She is survived by her husband Jerry; their children, Chad Lyon and Sheryne Lyon; grandchildren Zac Lyon, Max Lyon, Tony Lyon, Raya Capel, and Russo Capel; and great-grandchildren Kohen Lyon and Ruby Lyon. She is also survived by her siblings Phyllis Nelson, Donna Oelmann, Russ Anderson, and Joyce Meyer. Dee was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Richard Anderson and Dale Anderson, and her sister Virginia Anderson.
