Elizabeth Connors

Elizabeth (Betty) Katherine Connors, age 98, of Rochester, MN died on July 20, 2025 at Madonna Towers Living Community. Betty was born on the family farm near Currie, MN on January 9, 1927 to Philip and Elizabeth Gervais. She was one of seven children. She graduated from the College of St. Teresa in Winona, MN. She married John Edward Connors on June 12, 1950. She taught school in Lynd, MN. In 1963 Betty and John became Catholic Church Extension Society volunteers and moved to Rowena, TX with their eight children. In 1965 they moved to Lubbock, TX where she taught junior high math and science and lived there for 43 years. She loved to garden, travel and bake for the church festivals. In August of 2008 she and John moved to Rochester and resided at Madonna Towers. Betty enjoyed listening to music, watching the Minnesota Twins, reading, playing cards, bingo, spending time with her family and her many friends. She is survived by her children, Robert (Betty) of Trimont, MN, Mary of Sinton, TX, Ruth (Robert) Smith of Antonito, CO, Ellen Koepsell, of Rochester,MN, Thomas of Minneapolis, MN and Michael (Dean Hart) of Zihuatenejo, Mexico; four grandchildren, Philip (Monica), Lisa, Maggie, Dan Smith: and great grandson Joseph Voth. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, siblings Vincent Gervais, Julie Mulligan, Sister Generose Gervais, Marian Manis, Hugh Gervais and Glenna Boyle, sons Joseph and Edwin, grandson Daniel and son- in-law James Koepsell. As per Betty's wishes, her body was donated to Mayo Foundation for Medical Education. Memorial Services will be held July 30, 2025 At Madonna Towers Chapel at11:00am. In lieu of flowers memorials can be sent to Madonna Towers Living Community Foundation, 4001 19th Ave NW, Rochester, MN 55901, or to Mayo Clinic Hospice program at Mayo Clinic Rochester, MN 55905
