Janean Cunderla Obituary

Janean Cunderla, 94, of Rochester, passed away on October 3, 2025, at Saint Marys Hospital. She was a resident of The Waters on Mayowood. Janean was born on August 7, 1931, to Esther and Morse Decker in Albert Lea, Minnesota. She was raised on a farm near McIntire, Iowa, and graduated from McIntire High School in 1949. Following her graduation, she continued her education at Minneapolis Business College before moving to Rochester. She worked as a secretary for the Rochester School System for 28 years. In 1952, Janean married the love of her life, Donald Cunderla. They built a beautiful life together over 62 years of marriage. Janean's memory will be cherished by her loving family: her children, Donna (Thomas) Born of Rochester, Brent (Vickie) Cunderla of Wenatchee, Washington, and Diane (Randy) Bierbaum of Minnetrista, Minnesota; and her grandson, Triston (Emily) Cunderla, of Hood River, Oregon. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, her parents, and three siblings. The family invites friends and loved ones to join them in a Celebration of Life on October 22, 2025, from 2 to 4 p.m. at The Waters on Mayowood.
