Born February 23, 1965 Peter Banuelos passed away on October 8, 2024 at the age of 59.
Peter, or Pete (as many may have known him), was born to Martin Sr. and Helen Banuelos of Greenfield, California. He was the little brother to Martin Jr. (Marty), Thomas (Tom), and big brother to Diana (Diane), and Cynthia (Cyndee). Martin and Helen had their hands full, to say the least.
Peter attended Greenfield Elementary School and later graduated from King City High School Class of 1983. During those school years he was an active member of the high school football team playing a bit of Defensive Tackle, but primarily Offensive Guard. His senior year Pete was part of the winning football team of 1982 to beat North Monterey County in the Championship for the CCS Division II Title.
After high school Pete worked at various jobs such as San Bernabe Vineyards, Union Carbide (KCAC), and Green Valley Industrial Supply. He went to MTI College and Bartending School. It was bartending where he found his calling. An environment filled with music, dancing, people having a good time all while pouring them drinks. Pete was a people person, with a kind heart, gentle soul, and a great set of ears. He was more than happy to listen to the woes of the world. What more could one ask for in a bartender? Even after retiring from bartending, Pete stayed connected with the public as an online moderator for a dear friends YouTube channel. Wherever Pete went, whether physically, or virtually, he never met a stranger. He had a magnetism that drew people to him and always made them feel like they'd always known him. Not just the gift, but the actually feeling of family.
Pete's hobbies were simple. He was an avid Giants baseball fan, a New York Jets football fan, and a video game connoisseur. If he wasn't watching a sports game, he was playing a video game. His other passion involved spending time with family. He took great pride in being an uncle and loved his nieces and nephews like no other. He can even take credit for educating his nephews and honing their skills of video games!
Pete was preceded in death by his parents Martin Banuelos Sr. in 2005 and Helen Banuelos in 2021. He leaves behind brother Martin Banuelos Jr, and brother Tom Banuelos (both of Greenfield); sister, Diane (Steve) Hill, and sister, Cyndee (Mike) Conatser (both of King City). Although we grieve the death of our gentle, loving brother, we take great comfort knowing our mom and dad were waiting for him with open arms. What a reunion that must have been! He also leaves behind his nieces, Miriam (Jordan) Smith of Salinas, and Zoie Roseli-Banuelos of Greenfield; nephews Dominick Roseli and Zander Banuelos of Greenfield, Brandon and Mason Hill of King City, and Dylan Conatser also of King City. All of whom will certainly miss, but never forget their uncle Pete.
A Graveside Burial will take place at 11am, Friday, October 18, 2024 in the Holy Trinity Cemetery, 917 Elm Ave., Greenfield.
