Ruben Urquidez Obituary
Ruben was born in Reedley, Ca. He joined the United States Marine Corp when he was 18 years old. He earned a purple heart fighting for his country in the Korean War in 1951. Afterwards, Ruben settled down in Gonzales CA with his beloved wife Vera Urquidez. Ruben retired in 1992 from a long career in the agricultural seed industry. He enjoyed playing baseball and other sports as a young man and in his later years, he enjoyed carpentry and wood turning as a hobby. He and Vera enjoyed spending time at their second home in Pioneer,CA.
He was preceded in death by his wife Vera Urquidez and his daughter Jeanne Urquidez.
Ruben is survived by his 3 children Daniel Urquidez, Debra Harris (Glen), & Aaron Urquidez. He also leaves behind 10 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and other extended family who will cherish his memory.
A viewing and service will be held on Wednesday the 5th of April from 10am-12pm at Struve and Laporte Chapel, 41 W. San Luis St. Salinas, Ca. 93901. Burial services to follow at the Gonzales Cemetery.
