Bobby Self Obituary

Bobby Joe "B.J." Self, Jr., 47, of Georgetown, passed away on April 25, 2025, at MUSC Medical Center from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. Born on March 18, 1978, in Georgetown, he was the son of Bobby Joe Self, Sr. and Frances Powers Self. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Hulda and Nathan Self, and maternal grandparents, Myrick and Sadie Powers. B.J. was a graduate of Georgetown High School and worked as a Glass Technician with Safelite. Known for his creative spirit, he enjoyed painting, playing guitar, and building things. He will be remembered for his artistic soul, warm heart, and legendary sense of humor as a true prankster. Surviving are his wife, Crystal Self; daughter, Sierra Self; his parents; sister, Amy Self Bailey (Jim); and nephew, Ethan. He also leaves behind many close friends he considered brothers. Services will be held at the Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens Mausoleum on Tuesday, April 29, 2025 at 3:00 P.M. with burial immediately following. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
