Leoncio Ramirez Obituary

DEEP RUN - Leoncio "Leo" Quintero Ramirez, 40, of 2199 Sugar Maple Lane, left this world on April 24, 2012, surrounded by his family after a two-year battle with lung cancer (mesothelioma). He was born on March 24, 1972, in San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato, Mexico to Aquilino Quintero and Juana Ramirez. On February 24, 1996, he married Melanie Graml. During their 16 years of marriage, they were blessed with six beautiful children. For most of his journey here on earth he worked in the cement industry. He began his career with Ted Byrd Construction and ended his cement career with Goodman Concrete. Leoncio was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church. His church family will always remember his strong will and determination to keep his faith alive. "Leo" will be especially remembered for his willingness to lend a helping hand, warm-heartedness and always striving for the best for his family. "Leo" was an avid soccer fan and especially enjoyed watching his favorite player, Jose. Survivors include his wife, Melanie Quintero of the home; his five sons, Alex, Benjamin, Jose, Christian and Miguel of the home, and his only daughter, Lilliana of the home; mother Juana Ramirez; brothers Magdaleno Quintero and wife Irma, and their children, Nicolas, Antonio and Elizabeth, Rigoberto Quintero and wife Maria de los Angeles Apoderado, and their children, Rosa, Pamela and Jose Santiago; sister Martha Evelia Quintero and husband Felix, and their children, Oscar Noe, Aranza Isela, Tanya Jimena and Yareli Guadalupe; nephews Samuel Quintero, Miguel Guerrero, Antonio Guerrero, Alberto Guerrero and Jose Cruz Guerrero; niece Maribel Guerrero; mother-in-law Deborah Romero; sisters-in-law Erica Romero and Juana Servin; brothers-in-law Juan Hernandez, Dalton Kennedy Jr. and Michael Hill. Leoncio was preceded in death by his father, Aquilino Quintero; his brother, Samuel Quintero; his sister, Rosio Quintero; and niece, Raquel Guerrero. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, April 27, 2012, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Kinston. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Memorial Park in Pink Hill. The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 26, 2012, from 7-9 p.m. at Pink Hill Funeral Home and at other times at the residence. Leo you will be missed by many esp by my family. We have grown to love you and your family over many years of soccer. I must say you were always there to cheer on all our kids and our soccer family we will miss you dearly. On a personal note my family has had a part of them taken as well. Not only were you a great friend but you were like family to us. I promise we will do everything to help Mel and the kids! To Mel and the kids we love you and if you need anything day or night we are here! Love you all!Leo now you are pain free and you have your wings so soar high and I know you will be watching over your family like you always have. Jose your dad has always been your #1 fan and will always be. But now not only is he your #1 fan he is your special angel watching over all of you. Jose I am sure you have a whole fan club up in Heaven bc I know your dad has already been bragging on you!
