Ruby M. Wood

AYDEN | Mrs. Ruby Miller Wood, 78, died Sunday evening, November 8, 2015. A native of Greene County, she was born April 6, 1937, the daughter of Tom and Elizabeth Monroe Miller. A homemaker and farmwife, she was a devoted wife and mother finding her greatest joy in time spent with her family, who will dearly miss "Big Mama" as she was called. Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, November 11, at Mt. Calvary FWB Church, where she was a charter member, with the Reverend Frank Rice officiating. Committal services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, November 12, at the Snow Hill Cemetery. She is survived by her husband, Willie C. Wood of the home; sons, Timmy Carroll Wood of Hookerton, Thomas Lee "Cookie" Wood and fiancé Angie Milano, of Hookerton, and Dennis Ray Wood and wife Joyce, also of Hookerton; grandchildren, Dennis Ray Wood II and wife Robin, of Hookerton, Emily Wood of Hookerton, Dustin Wood and wife Joy, of Ayden, Stacey Howell and husband Josh, of Hookerton, Casey Hardee and husband Mitchell, of Ayden, and Will Wood of Ayden; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Dorothy Cannon of Ayden; brother, the Reverend Tom Miller and wife Mable, of Hookerton; special niece and caregiver, Linda Price; and special caregiver, Debra Garner. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening following the service and other times at the home of Dennis Ray and Joyce Wood, 1335 Ormondsville Road, Hookerton.
