John Turner Obituary

John Turner

Port Orchard - John Robert Turner passed from his earthly life on May 30th, 2021. John was born to Glenn and Marie Turner on Dec 12th 1944. He is survived by his loving wife Janice, one brother, Edward and a half sister, Joyce Turner. John and Janice were married on Aug 8, 1965, and enjoyed every year of their 55 years together. Their union wrought 2 children, Rob, married to Karen Turner and residing in New Mexico, and Belinda Turner residing in Tacoma. Rob and Karen blessed John and Janice with 2 grandchildren that John adored, Christian, 19 and Zoe Turner, 18. John started a career in the auto industry as a mechanic after graduating from Crab Orchard High School in Southern Illinois. John and Janice moved around a bit, eventually finding themselves in Port Orchard, WA in 1976. John worked his way up to Service Manager and then jumped to the other side of the dealership to become a car salesman. He loved working with people and enjoyed helping put families into cars they could rely on. The outdoors was John's favorite place to be, he fished and hunted all of his life. He also restored classic automobiles and spent many weekends hanging out with fellow Mopar fans and their cars. He founded the car club "Peninsula Highwaymen". No services will be held at John's request, but a small reception/open house will be held on July 10th 2pm at their home. Please share memories of John on his online memorial at www.rill.com.
