Born in Seattle to Thelmer and Addie Lervold
Graduated from: Our Lady Star of the Sea School
Bremerton West High School
University of Washington with degree in German, Secondary Education Certificate
And ROTC commission in the Army
Active duty Army 1965-1967 in Germany, Transportation Unit and Sixth Army Headquarters
Married Patricia Strouf in Bremerton in 1968.
Taught three years at Sehome High School in Bellingham
Returned to Germany in 1971 to teach American teenagers at US Army Base in Baumholder
Returned to Bremerton in 1977 to pursue second career as a Math Analyst at the Acoustic Test Facility at NUWES, Keyport
Richard was thankful for his family and for being a member of Our Lady Star of the Sea Parish where for many years he served as a Reader, Eucharistic Minister and catechist. Getting together with family, friends and food was his favorite activity followed by crossword puzzles and watching travelogues on TV. He also enjoyed cross country skiing, rowing on Dyes Inlet and watching goofy movies.
Richard is survived by his wife and daughters Shelley(Fred) Christensen and Rebecca (Dawid) Van der Merwe and sister Joyce (Alex) Paszly, niece Suzanne (Dave) and nephew Alex (Amanda). Also grandchildren Abagail, Flynn and Willem, step grandsons Steve (Tiae) and Jeffrey and great grandchildren Lucas and Chloe.

I miss u more then anything grandpa I hope you are watching over me I am 17 now my birthday passed you have been gone now for almost 4 years I still remember when u passed when I was just 13 I miss u more then I hope you know I have my boyfriend tasking care of me for you so you don´t have to worry that I won´t be ok he will make sure I am ok for you , me and mom miss you more then world can explain I hope to see you again grandpa I love u more then words

Pat, Shelly, Rebecca and families,
God Bless all of you as you/we mourn the passing of Dick!
It has been a long time since we have all seen each other,
