Ronda Sallup

Ronda Sallup, 68, passed away unexpectedly at her home in Hansville, WA, August 5, 2020. Ronda was born December 16, 1951, in Ketchikan, AK, to Ronald and Eleanor (Eilertsen) Farstad. She grew up up in Seattle, WA, and graduated from Ballard High School in 1970. She married the love of her life, Paul Sallup, December 19, 1970, in Seattle, WA, at Ballard First Lutheran Church. Paul and Ronda made their home in Ketchikan from 1971 to 2006. During those years Ronda worked for Tongass Realty, Ketchikan Pulp Co., and Ketchikan Public Utilities. She was a member of Ketchikan First Lutheran Church. She loved to work in her garden. Ronda was a friend to everyone she met. She was a second mom to a handful of special kids that she loved as her own. After moving to Hansville, WA, in 2006 Ronda and Paul both worked for Kitsap Propane before retiring for good.

Ronda was preceded in death by her grandparents, her parents, brother Ken Riley, sister-in-law Marlene "Tootsie" Beard, and brother-in-law Stanley Sallup. Survived by her loving husband Paul Sallup of almost 50 years and beloved black lab Rilee of Hansville, WA. Sister Coreen Hadland of Mesquite, NV, Sisters-in-law Dixie Riley of Ketchikan, AK, and Suzie Sallup of Hansville, WA. Nieces Kenda (Scott) Kline of Ketchikan, AK, Kari Hadland of Mesquite, NV, Heidi (John) Glen of Albany, OR, and nephews J.P. Sallup of Everett, WA, Kyle Hadland of San Bernardino, CA, Chris (Wendy) Riley, Eric Riley of Ketchikan, AK, and Shaun Beard of West Chester, PA. Several great and great-great-nieces and nephews. Cousins Linda Transki of Ketchikan, AK, Lee Farstad of Fairbanks, AK, Arne (Barbara) Farstad of Kent, WA, Nick (Shannon) Farstad of Ketchikan, AK, and very special friend Dawn (Dave) Shapansky Semeraro of Mukilteo, WA.

Ronda will be cremated and return to Ketchikan at a date to be later announced. She will be missed by all who knew her and forever in our hearts.
