Knoxville, TN
Amelia Louise Satterfield-Meek, 91, made her final transition Wednesday, September 30, 2015. Amelia leaves behind a legacy of leadership and service. A retiree of CAC, she was, above all, a devout and devoted member of Mount Moriah FBH Church.
Preceded in death by her loving husband, Alvin Thomas "AT" Meek, Sr.; sisters, Pauline Satterfield and Aurelia Satterfield-Ellington; brothers, Howard "Jelly"Satterfield and Bart Satterfield, Jr.; brother-in-law, Samuel Mills, Sr.; nephews, Hurley Satterfield and Samuel Mills, Jr.; niece, Michelle E. Satterfield.
She leaves to mourn her passing, son, Alvin Meek, Jr.; dedicated loved one, Dolly Meek; devoted siblings, Elizabeth Mills, Eugene (Willetté) Satterfield, and Edward (Gwen) Satterfield, sisters-in-law, Betty Satterfield, JoAnn Satterfield, Margaret Meek, Mary Pryor, and Martha Spencer; grandchildren, Michelle (Benjamin) Selby, Cicily Meek, Angela (Anthony) Horne, Alvin Thomas (Kezia) Meek, III, and Lynn (Valerie R. Britton) Meek; a host of great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, and friends; special friends, Katherine Taylor, Sophronia Favors, Erica Randolph, Emma Westfield, Dr. Rachael Hill, and Dr. Anne Fannin.
Family will receive friends 5:30-6:30 p.m., Monday, October 5, 2015 at Mt. Moriah FBH Church; funeral service, 6:30 p.m., Elder Franklin Brown, Officiant, Bishop Alonzo Rodgers, eulogist. Interment 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, October 6, 2015, Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery (John Sevier). Arrangements by Jarnigan & Son Mortuary. www.jarnigansmortuary.com

Sending my condolences to the Meek Family. Sis. Meek has been a special person to me for many years. I treasured her love and compassion she showed me from a very little girl at Mt. Moriah FBH Church and it has never been forgotten. She was always my Godmother in Christ and was held dear to my heart. She will surely be missed.

Alvin Meek, Satterfield, Mills, and other family members, I'm so sad to have heard of Mrs. Amelia's passing. She was such a sweet and compassionate woman who was loved by many people and mistreated no one. God rewarded her with many of years on this earth and now He's continuing to reward her with her crown in glory. He has returned one of His angels back into His arms, but sweet memories are left for you all to treasure and to carry you all when you are feeling down . She won't be forgotten and you will be in my prayers.
