FARMER-DENMAN, ANNA LUCILE - age 92, Dedicated Employee of Chick-Fil-A of Oak Ridge, born July 6, 1918 in the Robertsville area of Anderson County to Samuel and Nora Hackworth died May 17, 2011 at NHC in Oak Ridge. Lucile moved with her husband Howard Farmer, Oak Ridge firefighter, to the city of Oak Ridge in 1961. They very soon joined Glenwood Baptist Church and were both members there until their deaths. Lucile worked at many places during her career, but had a special "family" at Chick-Fil-A, both the customers and the co-workers. She loved going to work every day. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by husband, Howard Farmer to whom she was married 57 years; second husband, Lewis Denman; brothers, Clifton, Charles, Claude, Homer, and Albert Hackworth; sisters, Edith White, Hester Moore, and Euna Keeney. She is survived by daughters, Anna Kay Cooper of Clinton and Billie Sue Dilworth of Oak Ridge; grandchildren, Jonathan Cooper, Suzannah Cooper, Jason Cooper, Wendy Pitcher (husband Tim) and Erin Jackson (husband Jeremy); great-grandchildren, Caleb, Brendan, Andrew, and Jeffrey Pitcher; and special step-daughter Susie Johnson (husband Carl); and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to express a very special thank you to the wonderful staff of NHC who cared for her in her last weeks. The family requests that any memorial gifts may be given as a donation to Glenwood Baptist Church, 200 South Alabama Road, Oak Ridge. Friends and family are requested to come to Glenwood Baptist Church immediately following the service for a time of fellowship and remembrance. A graveside service will be held Friday, May 20, 2011 at Woodhaven Memorial Gardens, Edgemoor Road at 2:00 p.m., officiated by Dr. Mark Walton, senior pastor of Glenwood Baptist Church. Holley Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton is in charge of all arrangements. www.holleygamblefh.com

I first met Lucille about 10 years ago. She helped me in history search of Scarbrough. We are distant cousin thru her Mother Nora Walters Hackworth. She is a good friend and joy to know. I will miss her. Donald Raby [email protected]

My heart goes out to the family and Lucile will be missed by so many. Lucille was a blessing to those many people she touched just by a smile, a kind word or a mint at Chick-Fil-et. She was one of those rare people who are always are so kind. Before joining the Marines a few years ago, my daughter worked with Lucille. After joining, Lucille ALWAYS asked how she was doing anytime we saw her. My daughter adored Lucile and visited her whenever she came in town. We will miss her sunshine.
