Danny and David,you may not remember me i was older than you, but you know my sister{Sheila Coker Pack}Your Dad was my lawyer and he always spoke very highly of both of you. My son's father passed away with bone cancer and he was over see-er of his estate, he was very kind to my son and myself, i just learned of his passing today and my thoughts and prayers are with you.

My deepest sympathy to the family of Mr. Meek. He hired me as his secretary in 1985, and I loved him dearly. He was a special man, had his own way doing things, but had the most open and generous heart! I only found out this evening of his passing, and I am regretful that I was not able to attend the services in his honor. Family, please know that my prayers are with you. I truly cared about Mr. Meek. I know most called him Cecil, but he was Mr. Meek to me. I was barely 18 years old when he hired me, gave me a chance in the world, molded a portion of what I was to be.

Mr. Meek was such a wonderful man! He made a great impression on me when I served as his law clerk between 1990 and 1992. I am grateful for his kindness, and his efforts to teach me what I would need to know to become a good lawyer. My thoughts and prayers are with his family at this time.

I am so sorry about your dad. His passing just doesn't seem real. I have so many memories of him from when we were teenagers. I will always remember the safety lectures he gave us whenever we took the boat out or even went out in the car. He was one of a kind. I was sorry to hear of Mr. Meeks passing when I read the TBA Journal On-Line this morning. I was Mr. Meeks law clerk while I was at UT College of Law from 1993-1995, and I certainly learned the value of hard work and attention to detail. I know he will be missed. He was a very fine man.

David & Danny, Words cannot describe the sorrow I have felt since David called me Sunday morning. 'Pops' as Dave called Cecil was more than just my best friends dad, he was like my second dad. He was always very understanding and giving, and will be dearly missed. Knowing he is in Gods hands now is comforting to know all the pain he has suffered over the past year is gone....not to mention he will never have to ask 'son can you rub my neck' ever again. You are in our prayers and we love you.

I'm so sorry to hear about your Dad's passing. He was such a kind and respected man who loved life. I have some great memories of him and your family. He loved his animals especially the horses, one especially named Proud Man as I remember. He had a great sense of humor too. I feel very lucky that I was able to know him, a true gentleman. I am so sorry to hear of Mr. Meek's death. He was the very first lawyer who I worked with and he taught me many things in preparing for my long legal career. I lost my Mom to Cancer in July and my heart breaks for your family. It is very hard, but I know that the precious memories you all have of him will help you get through this sad time.

Cecil was a good man. He was attorney to my Mother's family for many decades, I guess it's been around 50 years. He was always fair and kind. We enjoyed talking with him on the phone. My Mother, Dorothy Stair Fisher and her sister, Mary Ellen Williams really appreciated Cecil. They talked about him often. When they both passed away in the past few years, Cecil was so generous with his time in getting their affairs in order. He went beyond what he had to do and for that we are grateful.
