Emma Walker Obituary
Knoxville, TN
Emma Jane Walker, age 16, of Knoxville, went to be with Lord November 21, 2016. She was a junior at Central High School, a member of the cheerleading squad, HOSA, BETA Club, and Young Life. Emma was a beautiful person with a caring soul. Loving and kind to everyone.
Emma was preceded in death by grandfather, Jim Kading; her great-grandparents, and most recently her great-grandmother, Georgia Clonelle "Nana" Jones. Survivors include parents, Mark and Jill Walker; brother, Evan Walker; grandparents, Jane Kading and Mark Armstrong, Ronald and Judy Hill, and Bob and Debbie Walker; great-grandmothers, Betty Kading and Dorothy Evans; aunts, Angie Hill and fiancé Randy Ferguson, Jenny Weldon and husband Michael, and Jodi Kading; cousins, Grey and Georgia Weldon.
Pallbearers will be Evan Walker, Nathan Stamps, Bass Cooper, Nate Jones, Seth Armstrong, Zack Ellis, and Zack Greene. Jackie Raley and the CHS Cheer Team will be serving as Honorary Pallbearers. The family will receive friends 12:00-3:00 p.m., Saturday at Central Baptist Church of Fountain City. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Young Williams Animal Shelter or to the Emma Walker Memorial Fund at Regions Bank by going to youcaring.com. Funeral service will follow at 3:00 p.m. with Reverend Josh Beeler officiating. Family and friends will then proceed to Hill Cemetery for interment following the service. Words cannot express how sorry I am for the loss of your daughter. I did not know her but I have lost a daughter too. Your daughter was very young with her whole life ahead of her and her absence will be greatly missed. God knew, and he knows your pain. The days ahead will seem endless but hold on tightly to the Lord for he will be with you through all the days and nights. One day, the pain will disappear and only love and memories will remain. I will keep you in my prayers and think of you often. Love will get you through for there is no greater love than a parent for their child. That's how much the Lord loves you.

I am so sorry to hear this tragic news about Emma. Even though I am very far away in Romania the news of Emma's death has touched my heart very deeply. She was beautiful and so full of life and energy. Her face shined so lovely and she knew what she wanted to do with her life. She wanted to be a nurse and I am sure she would be one of the best with so much love and compassion. This tragedy brought her future plans to an abrupt end and your hearts are broken as well as so many family and friends. We all think about life and the future but we seldom think that that our lives can be cut short. I have raised 34 children in a orphanage in Romania and I know how attached we were to each one. Exactly one year ago we lost one of our girls who was only 22 in an accident and the pain and heartbreak was almost unbearable. The amazing thing was that God was there to comfort us and hold us in his loving arms. It was something so amazing that in the midst of our pain we could sense God's love, peace and comfort to us in our need. My prayer is that you also will sense his love for you during this time and that he will also hold and comfort you and your family in his loving arms.

This is very sad... I'm sorry. I didn't know her but she was friends with one of my teachers daughter. She seemed so sweet and nice. I would have loved to meet her. Her life was cut short. She seemed to have a bright future. The walker family is in my prayers and thoughts. May it it be the Lord helping you all. Giving you the peace and love you need right now. It's hard but God won't let us go through anything we can't survive. It seems so hard right now. As it goes on it will just be the sadness in your heart because her absence will forever be noticed but she is still with you. Watching over you in all moment. I remember sweet Emma from preschool at Beaver Ridge UMC. I'm heartbroken that such a beautiful life was taken too soon. Words cannot express how sad I am for her family and friends.

I know Emma as the sweet, pretty cashier at Ingles. My son has Down syndrome and is a bagger at Ingles. He enjoyed bagging at Emma's register because she was so kind and helpful to him. In my brief encounters with her, I knew she was special and treated everyone with compassion. Your family is in my prayers daily. I pray the Lord grants you strength and comfort during this time.
