It's hard to believe that its been ten years since the gemstone world lost a great man. Every time I log into JTV I miss the way it used to be and seeing Jerry's smiling face and energetic passion about gemstones. I still have the letter he sent with a Tanzanite I bought. May God bless and continue to watch over his family and the legacy he left behind. God bless everyone.

Oh, how you will be missed by your adoring JTV Family. I never met you, but I can only imagine that you were needed more for gem finds in heaven amongst the stars. Survive without your enthusiasm, we will by remembering yours but it's not going to be easy.
Thanks for the gift and joy of gemology that you gave to so many of us so graciously. This is the true legacy that you have imparted to each and everyone of us. You lit the light in us all. Your passion for gems, joy of life, and faith in your fellow human beings were all obvious on air! Bless you Jerry! Rest in Peace! Hopefully, I'll see heaven...guess I'll have to live up to your high standards!!!
To your family and friends, I cannot begin to imagine your loss. Know that you that walked with an angel on earth. A rare treasure, and you will meet up with him again. As long as you remember him, he is truly never really gone, just temporarily out of sight. He was definitely exceptional!

January 16, 2013

My deep and sincere condolences go out to the Sisk family, and to Jerry Sisk's JTV family. While I never met Mr. Sisk, I can say JTV entered my life during one of my most troubled times, and served (continues to serve) as a very important aspect of my life. I am honored to own his most recent publication, and through his work and that of JTV, I am cultivating a new and evolving interest in gemology. In reading Mr. Sisk's obituary, I also realized we share a deep love and appreciation for the arts and for giving to our community. As a fan of JTV and admirer of Mr. Sisk's talent and contributions to both our domestic and international cultures, I share in the sadness that is being experienced as a result of his sudden and unexpected passing. Clearly, not only was he cherished in his home, but his presence was as asset to his profession and to his community. He will be missed by many. His life represents a model that we should all strive to achieve in our own way.
Sincere condolences,
Celeste Lawson

I was truly shocked when I heard this announced on JTV. Mr. Sisk was so much loved by so many and of course I never met him but as an avid JTV customer, I admired his accomplishments and was struck by how much he seemed to be loved by his employees. What a huge loss. My sincerest sympathies to all his family, friends and associates and the Knoxville area for losing such an important citizen.

M y condolences to the Sisk Family and to Jerry's Family at JTV. Having been watching and a customer since near the beginning,I have always enjoyed listening to Jerry speak about gems . It was because of his infectious happiness when speaking of gems , that i chose to return to school and have been taking more classless on gems starting for my GIA standing. I know he is up with the angels watching down on all of us,Sure that he will still give a little nudge to keep us learning about the world of gems.He will sorely be missed by one and all.God Bless to all.

I am so sad that he is gone. If it wasn't for him and Bill starting JTV. I would not have known anything about gemstones and where they came from. I was hoping to meet him sometime this year but now I will meet him in heaven where he is looking down on us and smiling.
God Bless you Jerry for the wonderful work you have done in educating the world about gemstones. I will pray for your family and friends that God will be a comfort to them in this time of great sorrow.

To the Sisk Family:
I did not know him personally. I am just a customer. But he made me feel like a member of his personal family every time he came on air. I am sorry for this tremendous loss. I cried when I read the email. Jerry was a genuine jewel of a man. I am so grateful I was able to thank him in person at the Gem Lover's Conference for his help over the years. He personally selected gems and sent them with a personal note. For a man with such knowledge and power; he was humble, generous, and accessible. It was my birthday and Jerry had someone run and get a huge piece of pink tourmaline rough for me to hold and photograph. He was proud of his lovely wife, Karen, who he introduced to our class. My prayers are for her, the family and his coworkers to find peace and healing. We will remember him popping out from backstage with a “Jerry's special”, and seeing his delight in the hosts reacting to a fantastic gem treat. The whole conference was such a gift and when I asked him what motivated him, he shared his Faith with me. I know he will be rejoicing with the angels on streets paved with gold and crowns laden with jewels. He has made his last trip, and he will be at home in Heaven.
