Mr. Glen E. Long, age 76, passed away Saturday, July 18, 2015. He was born July 29, 1938. He was one of four children, three sisters and one brother. Mr. Long resided in Rockwood, where he and his wife, Jane, of 54 years, have raised two children. Glen became active in farming when he married Jane in 1961, operating cow and calf operations in Roane and Morgan Counties. Glen was retired from Roane Alloys as Superintendent, where he served 40 years. He was an active member of Rockwood United Methodist Church, member of Rockwood Masonic Lodge #403, Past Master Member of Scottish rite and a Shriner. He previously served on the Roane County Farm Bureau Board, Roane Farmers Co-op Board, twelve years with the Rockwood City Council, 14 years with Rockwood Water Sewer Gas Board; and was presently serving on the Roane County Board of Utilities and Tennessee State Soil Conservation appointed by all Governors since Governor McWherter. Mr. Long was inducted into the Hall of Fame for the South Eastern United States in July 2011. He was Conservationist of the year for Tennessee in February 2012.

Mr. Long is preceded in death by his mother and father, Ray and Mae Long. Survivors include: wife, Janem of Rockwood, TN; son, Charles (Shawn) Long, of Rockwood, TN; daughter, Renee Randolph, of Rockwood, TN; sisters, Jenny (David) Hembree, of Rockwood, TN; Audrey (Rick) Carroll, of Knoxville, TN; Shelia (Charles) Conner, of Alabama; brother, Rev. Allen (Jean) Long, of South Carolina; grandchildren, Drake and Brittany Long, Colton Nuckols, Bayley and Ashlyn Randolph, Kallie Randolph and Blane Gunter, all of Rockwood, TN.

Arrangements are as Follows: Visitation services will be held in the Chapel of Evans Mortuary on Tuesday, July 21, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. -8:00 p.m. The Funeral Service and Masonic Service will be held on Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at The Rockwood United Methodist Church in Rockwood at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. William Fowler officiating. Rockwood Lodge #403 F&AM will perform the Masonic rites. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials made to Rockwood United Methodist Church, 801 N. Kingston Ave., P.O. Box #446, Rockwood, Tennessee 37854. Evans Mortuary is serving the family of Mr. Glen E. Long.
