Howard Constant Obituary

Howard Constant

Knoxville, TN

Howard Constant, age 77 of Knoxville, passed away on Wednesday, June 7, 2018. Howard was a graduate of Karns High School where he played basketball. He joined the Navy and served as a Medical Corpsman attached to the Marines. He was sent to Vietnam where he served bravely. He came home with undiagnosed PTSD and suffered for many years. He married and had two children: David, who lives in Oowatona, Minnesota and Brenda, who lives in Euless, Texas. He trained race horses and traveled the circuit for several years before having a massive stroke at the age of 35. The family was told that he would never walk or talk. He was stubborn enough to prove them wrong. He lived independently in the Ball Camp community where he was a member of Ball Camp Baptist Church. A few months ago, when his health began to fail, he moved to Shannondale. He leaves to mourn his loss, a brother Roy Constant and wife Joan; special nephew Allen Underwood and wife Sharon, along with several nieces, nephews and cousins. All friends and family are invited to attend a memorial service at 10:00am Thursday, June 14th, 2018 at Ball Camp Baptist Church.
