JAMES O. TURNER

TURNER, JAMES O. - age 85 of Powell passed away on March 19, 2014 at home. He was the son of John and Florence Turner of Vivian, WV. He was member at Wallace Memorial Baptist Church, Katherine Fortner SS Class member, Navy Veteran, Powell Masonic Lodge #582 F&AM, 32nd Degree Mason in the Scottish Rite Bodies, Lions Club, Shriners, and a native West Virginian who enjoyed spending time with his family, gardening, avid outdoorsman, mining antiques. Survived by loving wife of 65 years, Beulah B. Turner; children, Paul Turner, Becky (Rick) Shanton, Jim (Robin) Turner and Jenny Turner and special family friend Karon Tillis; grandchildren, Paul Popa, Elizabeth Turner, Justin Turner, Meredith Leber, Katie Shanton, Mandy Shanton, Kristen Tan and Stephen Shanton; great grandchild, Braelyn Popa; several nieces and nephews. Special thanks to Amedisys Hospice for their compassion and support. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Wallace Memorial Baptist Church. Funeral service will be held 6:00pm, Saturday, at Wallace Memorial Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Boyd officiating. Family and friends will meet at 1:15pm, Monday, at East Tennessee Veterans Cemetery for interment at 1:30pm with Rev. Kent Williams.
