Mrs. Janet Elaine (Walker) Cole age 67 of New Tazewell, TN went to be with her Heavenly Father on July 25, 2017 with her family by her side. Janet was born December 4, 1949. She married David Cole on August 18, 1967. They would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this year. Janet professed testimony of Salvation at the age of 6 and was a member of Carr's Branch Baptist Church where she served as pianist and organist until the time of her illness. She loved music and spent many years teaching piano. Janet was preceded in death by her: Father: Ernest Walker Father & Mother-in-Law: Ryburn and Lona Cole She is survived by her: Mother: Lenore Walker of New Tazewell, TN Loving Husband: David Cole of New Tazewell, TN Daughter: Stephanie Cole of Knoxville, TN Son: Davy Cole of New Tazewell, TN Granddaughter: Hope Elaine Cole of New Tazewell, TN Grandson: Austin Greer of New Tazewell, TN Mother of the grandchildren: Jessica Duncan of New Tazewell, TN Sisters: Jean (David) Greer of Knoxville, TN Teresa (David) DeBusk of Knoxville, TN Brothers-in-Law: Ken (Deanie) Cole of Morristown, TN Mack (Delores) Cole of Morristown, TN Eddie Cole of Franklin, TN Sister-in-Law: Sue Martin of Brentwood, TN Aunt: Sue Walker of Knoxville, TN Special friend: Virginia Cole New Tazewell, TN Several nieces, nephews and a host of other loving relatives and friends. Graveside services for Mrs. Cole will be conducted Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at 11AM in the Fairview Cemetery with the Rev. Ken Cole officiating. There will be a gathering of family and friends on Friday, July 28, 2017 from 5PM until 7PM with a Celebration of Life to follow at 7PM at the Carr's Branch Baptist Church. Pallbearers: Shannon Cole, Bud Eastridge, Tom Edwards, Ronnie Williams, Willard Russell, Jr. and Keith Walker Honorary Pallbearers: Buster Cole, Chester Gibson, Chester Siler, David Johnson Gene Ellison, Rex Walker, Ray Carver, Jessee McAfee and Earl Ingle In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to American Diabetes Association 220 Great Circle Rd, #134, Nashville, TN 37228 Claiborne-Overholt Funeral home is honored to be serving the family.
