JoAnn,
What can I say? You were a great and careing mother-in-law. Always wanting to give and never asking for anything in return. Every time Doris and I came to visit, you made sure that I gained weight. I know that you always focused on what you could do for others, and not yourself. I miss you.

Doris & Donna,
Your Mom was the sweetest lady who never met a stranger and always took you in no matter who you were. I met Joann thru Doris many years ago when Doris married into the Ferguson family and we have remained friends ever since. She was always there for me & my family in her loving kind way. I loved to go to her house & visit, laugh, and of course eat. She was always feeding you whether you were hungrey or not. I will miss her very much. My thoughts are with the girls & I know you will always remember how sweet & kind she was.If you need anything you how to reach me,I love you both, Joyce

Dear Doris, I am truly sorry to hear of your Mom's passing. I've always had the greatest admiration for her - a woman who led the life she pleased! May God hold you while you grieve and quickly show you how to find your Mom deep within yourself. Love and sympathy to Bill. Who will feed him now in TN?! Much love, Janie

Doris and Bill, I have so many WONDERFUL memories of JoAnn. She was a wonderful lady. Her heart was always in the right place. Willing to help, putting others needs way before her own. We all could've taken lessons from her. As I had said in an entry elsewhere - she was my friend for 35 years and it is hard to believe she is gone. But I know that as one of my favorite songs says "It Is Well With My Soul", I KNOW for certain that it was well with JoAnn's Soul. I shall never forget her sweet smile.

I met Jo Ann here in Woodstock, GA through her daughter Doris. Doris is a very special friend in my life... She is one-of-a-kind. I love her as a sister! The time I knew Jo Ann, it was clear to see that Doris inherited her sweet spirit, loving disposition and her down-to-earth ways from her precious mother. Jo Ann was the sweetest, most sincere and fun-loving lady! I pray that our Good Lord will cradle this whole family and provide them with the peace that comes only from Him. Jo Ann is with Him... smiling down on all... She will be missed... but we press on knowing that we will see her again! God Bless.

My earliest recollection of Jo Ann was when I was a young boy and Jo Ann worked with Vern at the Dinner Bell. She worked hard most of her life but was never too busy to give time and love to anyone that knew her. Her smile will live on in everyone's memory. I have been inspired by her faith in Christ.
Jo Ann will be missed but we look forward to a day when we will be re united.

It is with a heavy heart to have heard that your Mom passed away. I read some of the posts and it sure sounds like she was a wonderful mom and friend. She passed those genes on to you...Please know that you and the family will always be in my prayers and that I wish I had the opportunity to meet your mom.. She sounded like a great lady...I will leave you with this poem.

A Beautiful Life

A beautiful life
that came to an end,
she died as she lived,
everyone's friend.
In our hearts a memory will
always be kept, of one we
loved, and will never forget.

May God Bless you and give you the strength to carry on for your mom's sake...
Love and Hugs,

What a friend we have had in Sister Jo Ann! She cared for everyone and showed her concern. Her hands were always ready to help in any way and her life has exemplified a "servant's heart." She will be missed and we look forward to seeing her again one day in Heaven. Pastor Henry & Vickie Owens of Faith Baptist Church.

Afterglow
I'd like the memory of me to be a happy one.
I'd like to leave an afterglow of smiles when life is done.
I'd like to leave an echo whispering softly down the way, of happy times and laughing times and bright and sunny days.
I'd like the tears of those who grieve to dry before the sun of happy memories that I leave when life is done...

I remember when Tammy and I were students at UT, we would love to stop at her diner. She would always give us a big smile when we came through the door. No matter how busy she was she always would stop to talk with us. She was a great lady and full of faith. Tammy and I will miss her greatly.
