We will always remember my cousin, Gene Kirk. He and his wife came to our large family reunion in the 90 s. It was so nice how everyone got to catch up. The reunion was held to honor the last living sibling, Uncle Ben of my mother and Gene s father. Many of the Kirk cousins are gone now, but we who are left are so blessed to know our family had such a strong faith passed down from our precious grandmother, Laura Kirk.

Gene was our Asst Minister and youth leader in the late 50s and early 60s at Central United Methodist. I was very fond of him,and the YOUTH had so much fun with unknown destinations and MYF.When he still coming to church over the past years, I would remind him of memories and even mentioned him when I had pulpit duties. Kathryn and children, he was a wonderful minister and gentleman. Our prayers are with you all. Susie Ellis Knable, CUMC member 68 years!

Please accept my condolences the passing of my old friend, Gene Kirk. Gene was a member of the Mexico Medical Mission in 2005 and he and I were roommates. We knew each other in the Methodist ministry of Holston Conference Conference for many years. I regret another commitment prevents my attending the service, but my prayers and best wishes are with his family.

Dear Mark & Tracy
For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. 18 Therefore comfort one another with these words.(1Thess. 4:16-18)
Love you and pray for you all!

I would first like to express my love for all of the Kirk family. You all are indeed family to me. Our families shared so much together. "Preacher" Kirk was a mentor and a friend. I enjoyed working with him in the dark room and taking art classes together. He seemed to be the first with all of the newest gadgets: hotdogs in the micrwave, those huge Japanese movie disks and the movie camera. He used his camera to help the youth at church make a movie about breaking down walls. He was indeed a true disciple showing Christ-like love and compassion to all he met. I will miss you Gene. See you over yonder.

Mr. Kirk was our pastor at Pecks Church in Maryville in the 60"s. We loved him and his sermons. He also had a great voice, every year he would sing " Summertime and the living is easy" My brother and I enjoyed riding our bikes with the boys. Our sincere sympathy for your loss. I have wonderful memories of your family! Susan, Bryan and Elaine Kelley (we lived on Memorial Dr)

Gene was our Pastor at St John UMC in Maryville, TN back in the early '90's. He was a wonderful person and we so enjoyed his sermons. He had so much energy! He baptized our daughter, Nikki, who now works at the Blount County Library. He will always be remembered fondly.
