Mildred Forsyth Obituary

Mildred Forsyth

Knoxville - Mildred Forsyth, age 91 of Knoxville, TN, passed peacefully away on the Lord's day, Sunday, March 14, 2021. She was received into the loving arms of her two most loved men, her husband John of 38 years and her lifetime Lord, Jesus Christ.

Mildred was a hard-working mother who loved "people jobs". She was employed many years in the dry-cleaning business, and later managed the Tennis pro shop at Holston Hills Country Club for 13 years. She made many friends there with her ever ready smile, daily words of good cheer and kindness to old and young alike. She was often compared to Aunt Bea of the television Andy Griffith Show. She also volunteered with the Knox County School Retired Senior Volunteer Program.

She is preceded in death by her parents Charles and Myrtle Brown of Allardt, TN., brothers: Lloyd, Horace, Kenneth, Paul, and Grady Brown, husband John J. Forsyth, Sr., stepdaughter Evelyn Nelson, granddaughter Julia Forsyth. She is survived by daughter Connie Long and sons Larry Forsyth and Keith Forsyth (Dana), stepson John Forsyth, Jr. Grandchildren Brad Long, Brian Long, and Tiffany Evans blessed "Granny" with multiple great grandchildren.

Mildred's family is especially thankful to N.H.C. Ft. Sanders for lovingly caring for her every need, especially the second-floor staff and the caris hospice team.

Mildred loved animals, especially her granddoggie Paco. In lieu of flowers she requested donation be made to Young Williams Animal Shelter.

I loved Aunt Mil so much .. I can remember when she lived with us, she took care of us when Mom and Daddy worked and she even taught me how to ride my first bicycle. What a blessing to be with the Lord .. we'll all see her one day soon.

Aunt Mildred, it saddens me that you are no longer here with us on earth. My heart is filled with gladness that you are in heaven with the Lord Jesus and other family members.
