Onva Duncan Obituary

Onva Duncan

Lake City, TN

Onva Larue Duncan, of Lake City, TN passed away January 16th at the age of 71. He was in the Oak Ridge Methodist Medical Center surrounded by his wife and children. Onva was a decorated Air Force Sergeant during the Vietnam War and worked at the Y-12 plant as Site Commander for 25 years.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda Duncan, his daughter Ruth Shelton; her husband Glenn and their children, Ambrose and Cyllan of Powell, TN; his son Travis Duncan, his wife Amy and their son, Luke of Knoxville, TN. He is preceded in death by his daughter Laura Emily Ruth Massengill, Kermit and MaryLou Duncan and Bill and Mageline Tackett. He also leaves behind his sisters Joyce Holder and Penny Pebley of Lake City; their spouses; many nieces and nephews and countless friends.

Memorial service: 6:30 PM, Thursday, January 21, 2016 in the Hatmaker Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Chris Tackett officiating. You can also view Onva's guestbook at: www.hatmakerfuneralhome.com. Hatmaker Funeral Home, Lake City, TN in charge of arrangements.

My love and prayers for all of your family....I so enjoyed talking with your husband (dad) when I used to come for the grandchildren's parties. He was so interesting, had great stories to tell. I know he is in a better place but will still be missed by everyone. Love, Mary
