Richard E. McMillan, age 74, of Madisonville, passed away 12:50 p.m., Saturday, January 16, 2016 at home. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and served his country proudly in the U.S. Army for 21 years. Member of Hilltop Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and treasurer. Member of Tellico Masonic Lodge #80. Retired from the U.S. Postal Service.

Preceded in death by parents, Clifford and Ruth McMillan; sister, Betty Wilson; brother, John McMillan. Survivors: wife of 56 years, Mildred Lucille McMillan; daughters and sons-in-law, Beverly and Christopher Mason, Brenda and John Raper; son and daughter-in-law, Richard, Jr. and Donna McMillan, all of Madisonville; grandchildren, Dustin Ellis Raper, Christopher James Mason, Shannon Michelle Henderson, Samantha Kirkland, Richard Ellis McMillan, III; 7 great-grandchildren; sisters, Hope Nicholson, Ruth Curtis, of Seymour, Loretta Burger, of Spokane, Washington; brothers, Cale McMillan, of Seymour, Bradley McMillan, of Madisonville; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral 8:00 p.m., Monday, Biereley-Hale Chapel, Rev. Charles Cassidy, Rev. Harold Ray officiating. Interment 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, Haven Hill Memorial Gardens with full military honors. Masonic service 7:45 p.m., Monday. Memorials may be made to the Good Shepherd Center, P.O. Box 353, Madisonville, TN 37354. Family will receive friends 5:00-7:45 p.m., Monday at Biereley-Hale Funeral Home, Madisonville.
