Ruby Knowles Obituary
Rockwood, TN
Mrs. Ruby Rachel Ryans Knowles, age 88 of Rockwood, Tennessee passed away Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at Tennova Healthcare, Knoxville, Tennessee. Rachel was a member of Eureka Baptist Church in Rockwood. She was a loving Mother, Grandmother, Sister and a friend to anyone whom she came in contact with. She was an avid quilter and she loved to sing. Mrs. Knowles retired from Burlington-Adler Hosiery.
Mrs. Knowles is preceded in death by her parents, John Elmer and Ola Myrtle Nelson Poland; husbands, Ray Ryan and William Bill Knowles and several brothers and sisters. Survivors include: daughter: Brenda Edmonds and husband, Roy of Rockwood, TN; son: Don Ryans and wife, Christine of Kingston, TN; brother: Ray Poland and wife, Linda of Jacksboro; sisters: Luverna Wicks of Rockwood, TN, Ailene Patrick of Panama City Beach, FL, Betty Raffield and husband, Darwin of Panama City Beach, FL; 11 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; host of nieces, nephews and other extended family.
Visitation services will be held from Evans Mortuary, Rockwood on Friday, June 19, 2015 from 5:00-7:00pm. The funeral service will follow from the Chapel of Evans Mortuary at 7:00pm with Rev. Mark McCoig and Rev. Travis Langley officiating. Graveside and interment will be in Highland Memorial Park Cemetery, Knoxville, Tennessee on Saturday, June 20, 2015 at 10:30am. Evans Mortuary is serving the family of Mrs. Ruby Rachel Ryans Knowles.

I am sure you do not know me but I have been a friend of Rachel's for a good many years beginning at Olivet Baptist Church. I found her to be a faithful friend and dedicated Christian. I am sure she will be greatly missed.
