RUBY STEPHENS SHARP

SHARP, RUBY STEPHENS - December 2, 2014, 95, of Oak Ridge, stepped into glory and met Jesus face to face. She was born to parents, Arlis and Ethel Stephens, on January 5, 1919, in LaFollette, Tennessee. Ruby married Otis Sharp on December 20, 1941, in Kentucky. She and Otis moved to Oak Ridge and she began her employment with Union Carbide/ORNL as a salary administrator. Ruby was an involved member of Robertsville Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school and sang in the choir. Preceding her in death were her husband, Otis Sharp, September 4, 1988; and son, Ronald Sharp, April 11, 2001. Survivors include sons, Jerry Sharp (Linda), Oak Ridge, Don Sharp (Judy), Oak Ridge; daughter-in-law, Janie Sharp; grandchildren, Laurie Menefee (Eric), Debbie Sharp, Donna Sharp Myers (Danny), Chris Sharp (Kelly), Brad Sharp (Lacey), Ashley Davis (Tyler), Leah Braden (Rick), Donnie Sharp (Kristin); twenty great grandchildren; sister, Maxine Jeffers (Fred, deceased). The family extends a heartfelt thanks to her wonderful caregivers, Loretta "GG" Bunch, Wilma Daugherty, Becky Cooley, and Emma Hudson. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be in the form of donations to Robertsville Baptist Church, 257 Robertsville Road, Oak Ridge, TN, 37830 or to Young Life of Anderson County, 659 Emory Valley Road, Oak Ridge, TN 37830. The family will receive friends Saturday, December 6th, from noon till 1:00 p.m. at Weatherford Mortuary. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Brian Scott and Rev.
