STEPHEN FOSTER Obituary

FOSTER, STEPHEN P., JR., age 43, and KRISTINA (TINA) WILSON FOSTER, age 41, of Knoxville, died suddenly from injuries sustained in an automobile accident on Wednesday, June 18, 2014, while traveling in Capitol Reef National Park in south-central Utah. Stephen Preston Foster, Jr., was known for his compassion and was a brother to everyone whom he met. Born in Chattanooga, Tennessee, Stephen spent his early childhood in Rock Spring, Georgia, and Rockwood, Tennessee. A 1988 graduate of Rockwood High School, Stephen attended Roane State Community College, Carson-Newman College, and the University of Tennessee at Knoxville, with a concentrated study in ophthalmology and care of the human eye. He was a beloved employee of Southeast Eye Specialists for the past six years. Stephen married the former Kristina (Tina) Wilson on October 5, 1996, and to that union would be the coming of a precious and cherished son, Preston Wilson Foster. Stephen loved his wife, he loved his son, and loved his Lord - living those actions to the utmost every day and in every way. Stephen being an avid fisherman and sports enthusiast, Preston grew to possess a love of the same. Crafted in his own image, Stephen loved watching Preston play ball on various teams in the Karns School System. He and Preston were ball buddies and both enjoyed attending the Smokies baseball games and the University of Tennessee football games. Stephen had a sincere focus of being a good father and loved every moment he was able to spend with his dear Preston. Stephen attended Cokesbury United Methodist Church, Hardin Valley Campus, for the last four years and was a member of Ball Camp Baptist Church, prior to attending Cokesbury United Methodist Church. Stephen is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Marion Preston Foster and maternal grandparents, Russell and Eileen Davis. He is survived by his son, Preston Wilson Foster; parents, Steve and Patti Foster of Knoxville; sister and brother-in-law, Mandi Foster Rogers and Dr. Chip Rogers of Nashville; grandmother, Bessie Foster Houston of Ringgold, Georgia; special nephews, Trey Rogers, Evan Rogers, and Drew Rogers, all of Nashville; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and a host of friends and fishing buddies. Kristina (Tina) Wilson Foster was known for her compassion and dedication to her patients as well as to mankind and was often referred to as an "angel". She was a genuine, caring person and always placed the needs of others before her own. Born in Chattanooga, Tennessee, Tina spent her early childhood in Decatur, Tennessee, and a resident of Meigs County until the age of ten. A 1990 graduate of Roane County High School, Tina attended Roane State Community College and the Mercer University School of Pharmacy in Atlanta, Georgia, where she received her doctor of pharmacy degree. She was the current clinical pharmacist at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center Pharmacy, a position she held for the past eighteen years. Tina married Stephen Preston Foster, Jr., on October 5, 1996, and to that union would be the coming of a precious and cherished son, Preston Wilson Foster. Tina loved her husband, she loved her son, and loved her Lord - living those actions to the utmost every day and in every way. Tina, being a sports enthusiast of all sorts, along with her husband, led Preston to possess a love of the same. Tina often referred to Preston as her "Sunshine". Tina loved spending time with Preston and enjoyed practicing every sport with him in which he participated. Tina and Stephen were very proud parents and encouraged Preston to excel in all parts of life. Tina loved the outdoors - spending time camping, hiking, jogging, and bicycling. She also cherished the close bond and friendship with her twin sister, Gina, and her family. Tina along with her husband, Stephen, had a sincere focus of being a good mother and loved every moment she was able to spend with her dear "Sunshine". Tina was epic in making sure Preston was spiritually prepared to walk in the likeness of God and they as a family, made it a priority to have daily devotionals with God. Tina was truly a wonderful wife, mother, daughter, and sister. Tina is preceded in death by her father, Ernest Franklin Wilson; maternal grandfather, John W. My husband Bob and I were in the car behind the senior Foster's motor home in Capital Reef National Park. Bob got out and attempted to help. We were so aware of the seriousness of this accident. After the highway patrolman took control of the situation, we drove to a nearby campground and prayed. Not a day has passed that we haven't prayed 2-3 times for the Foster family.

I am truly heartbroken by the tragic passing of Tina Wilson and her husband. I had the pleasure of coaching Tina and Gina in youth sports when they were middle/high school age. They played ball with my little sister, Heidi. I have many precious memories of numerous young ladies who I had the opportunity to work with. Tina and Gina Wilson were a coach's dream. I have not seen the girls in quite some time, although their class and dignity is as vivid as yesterday. Peggy, Ken, Gina, and all the family I didn't know; My heart is with you. We will see Tina again!

Preston,
I became acquainted with you and your parents when you were a baby. Your parents enrolled you in the Child Enrichment Center at Fort Sanders. Your mom would give you hugs and kisses before she left for work. During her lunch break, she would cross the street and return to spend time with you. She spent her time holding, playing and talking with you. On the days she found you napping, she would watch while you slept. Your dad would come if your mom had to work late. He always played and talked with you from the moment he entered the door. Upon seeing you, your parent's smiles proved that you brought them so much happiness. Through the years, when your mom and I would see each other in the hospital, she always updated me on what you were doing. I was so bless to witness your mom and dad's love for you. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.
