Walter Gibson Obituary
Powell, TN
Walter Harvey "Hoot" Gibson, age 88, went home to be with the Lord on June 20, 2015 from Tennova Hospice in Halls. He was born and raised in Mt. Vernon, Il but was a long time resident of Powell, TN. He was a veteran of the US Navy and retired from ORNL. He was also a loving father and grandfather.
Preceded in death by his loving wife of 52 years, Rose Alma Gibson; parents James H. and Eva Elnora Gibson; and sister Maxine Looney. Left behind to cherish his memory are daughter Terri McCoy; grandchildren Joshua and Jessica McCoy; and special friend Juanita Evers.
The family will receive friends 5:00-7:00 PM Tuesday at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel with service to follow at 7:00 PM with Dr. Jack Parrott officiating. Family and friends will meet 10:45 am Wednesday at Bethyl-Lynch Cemetery for interment at 11:00 AM. www.mynattfh.com

Walter was a very kind gentleman and we were blessed to know him. It was always good to see him in church at Black Oak Heights Baptist when he was feeling well enough to attend. We are also grateful for his service to our country during WWII. Our prayers are with the family.
