WILLIAM JONES Obituary

JONES, WILLIAM HARRISON - age 96, died June 8, 2012. He was born on October 15, 1915 in Loudon, TN, the oldest child of the late Paul Cleveland and Annie (Harrison) Jones. He was a lifelong member of the Loudon United Methodist Church where he taught Sunday school and served as Treasurer for several years. Bill, as he was called by many, worked in the hardware business for most of his life with Greer's Hardware in Loudon and Newport, TN, and with Wallace Hardware in Morristown. While working in hardware he also managed and built his dairy farm in Monroe County, which was his love and true calling. The family extends their sincere appreciation to the staff of River Oaks, Loudon for the love, care, and support Bill received during his time there. Also, appreciation is expressed to Dr. Peter Stimpson and his staff for their many years of care. He was preceded in death by his sister Virginia Tedford and in 2001 by his wife of 66 years, Mary Sue (Robinson) Jones, for whom he was a loving and devoted caregiver for many years. He is survived by his son, Dr. David Blair (Susan) Jones of Greeneville, TN; daughter, Freddie Ann Jones (John) Tittle of Ooltewah, TN; sister, Alma Simpson of Loudon, TN; grandchildren, Mark (Victoria) Jones of Signal Mountain, TN, Susanne (Jonathan) Norwood of Greenville, SC; great-grandchildren, Eli Sawyer Jones, David Preston and Hampton Alexander Norwood; a niece and several nephews. Contributions in memory of William Jones may be made to Loudon United Methodist Church, P. O. Box 342, Loudon, TN 37774 or to Holston United Methodist Home for Children, P. O. Box 188, Greeneville, TN 37744-9982. Graveside service Saturday, June 16, 2012, 1:00 PM in Roberson Cemetery with Rev. Walt Simmerman officiating. McGill-Karnes Funeral Home, Loudon.

Mr. William Jones was a big part of my life growing up in the Methodist Church in Loudon. My condolences to David and Freddie Ann. Your parents were so special and I will never forget them.
