Barbara Lockwood Obituary

AUBURN — Barbara Ann Lockwood, age 87, of Auburn passed away on Sunday, June 19, 2016, at her Auburn home.
Mrs. Lockwood was born on Aug. 24, 1928, in Fort Wayne to Eric and Mary (Park) Kuntz. She graduated from Wolf Lake High School in 1946. She then went on to attend International Business College in Fort Wayne, graduating in 1948.
She married Gene Duane Lockwood on April 9, 1949, in Wolf Lake. He preceded her in death on Oct. 8, 1994.
Mrs. Lockwood was a homemaker and also worked for the DeKalb Central School System as a secretary for 15 years, retiring in 1982.
She was an active member of the Auburn Presbyterian Church where she served as an elder. She served as the treasurer and past vice president and president of the Women's Association of the Auburn Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Lockwood was also a member and past president of the Auburn Women's Club, past president of the Auburn Garden Club, past vice president and treasurer past vice president and treasurer of the Chatter Bells Club and she was a conservator at the Botanical Gardens in Fort Wayne. Mrs. Lockwood was very active at the ACD Museum serving as a museum volunteer, a museum board trustee and served as the past president and vice president of the ACD women's committee.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Timothy G. and Cherri Lockwood of Waterloo; two daughters and a son-in-law, Vickie Jane Lockwood of Austin, Texas, and Cynthia Jo and Richard Zimmerman of Lebanon, Indiana; four grandchildren, Kimberly Welch, Jason Lockwood, Kelley Terrill and Matthew Lockwood; two stepgrandchildren, Paul Wellman and Brittany Easterday; nine great-grandchildren, Elijah, Kaitlyn, Jackie, Andrew, Zach, Kayden, Marianna, Lauren, Brighton, Brooklyn and Aiden; a sister, Joan Davis of Auburn; and two nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gene Lockwood; and one brother, James Kuntz.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 24, 2016, at from noon to 2 p.m. at Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 S. Center St. in Auburn.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 24, 2016, at 2 p.m. at the Feller and Clark Funeral Home in Auburn.
The Rev. Lyle Ewing of the Auburn Presbyterian Church will officiate.
Burial will in Woodlawn Cemetery in Auburn.
Memorials may be directed to the Auburn Presbyterian Church, 111 W. 12th St., Auburn, IN 46706 and to ACD Museum, 1600 Wayne St., Auburn, IN 46706.
