Mary Leach Obituary

GARRETT — Mary L. Leach, age 92, of Garrett and formerly of Kalkaska, Mich., died on Friday, Feb. 21, 2014 at Miller's Merry Manor in Garrett.
She was born March 25, 1921, in Mancelona, Mich., to the late Nora Lakies. She married Carl N. Leach on April 5, 1940, in Toledo, Ohio, and he died in August of 1987. They had owned The Shanty Restaurant and Carl's Sales and Service in Kalkaska. She was a member of Peoples Church of Kalkaska, The Red Hat Society, charter member of Kalkaska Hospital Auxiliary, Kalkaska Snow Packers Club, Kalkaska Chamber of Commerce and Trout Festival Board.
She is survived by a daughter, Mary Jo Mix of Garrett and three sons, Bob Leach of Brattleboro, Vt., Allen Leach of Kalkaska and Dennis Leach of Williamsburg, Mich.; a brother, Bud Ogden of Texas; a sister, Shirley Holcomb of Battle Creek, Mich.; 14 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Karen Profitt.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, March 2, at 3 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Garrett, with calling one hour prior. The Rev. David Mix will officiate. Memorials are to the First Baptist Church.
