Steven Shock Obituary

HICKSVILLE, Ohio — Steven (Sherm) Shock, 52, died Saturday, October 14, 2017 at Community Memorial Hospital, Hicksville, Ohio.
Born on April 29, 1965 in Fort Wayne, Indiana, Steve was the son of Jack and Nancy (Hissong) Shock.
Steve was a 1984 graduate of Hicksville High School and received an associate degree at Lima Business College.
On August 10, 1998, Steve was united in marriage to Charlotte Means and she survives.
Steve, along with his brother, Todd, owned Shock's Hardware in Hicksville. Previously, he was employed by Nemco as a supervisor.
Steve was a member of the 1982 Hicksville Aces state baseball team and spent 32 years doing stats for the football team. He was avid sports fan, following the Ohio State Buckeyes, San Francisco 49ers, Chicago White Sox, and was a Hicksville Aces Athletic Booster. He enjoyed yard work and growing things in his garden.
He is survived by his wife, Charlotte; his daughter, Kasadi; his parents, Jack and Nancy; brothers Marty (Stacy), Todd (Kay) and Tim (Chris); many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews; and a mother-in-law, Mary Means.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Jane; and grandparents Harold and Martha Hissong and Gale (Spider) and Charlotte Shock.
Funeral services for Steve will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at Smith & Brown Funeral Home, Hicksville with Pastor Jerold Tear officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 4-8 p.m. and Friday from 12 noon to 4 p.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Scipio Cemetery, Harlan, Indiana.
Memorials may be made to the Hicksville Fireman's Association or Hicksville Athletic Boosters.
