Bill Prussman Obituary
Billy Ray "Bill" Prussman was born on August 31, 1955, to Herbert H. and Helen J. (Dickerson) Prussman. He graduated from Oregon High School in 1973. After graduation, he began working for the City of Oregon and served as the Superintendent of Utilities for most of his life. He was a lifelong resident of Oregon, Missouri.
On June 10, 1989, he married Rebecca Lynn "Becky" Weis in Oregon, and they became the proud parents of three children. Bill and Becky were longtime members of the Oregon First Christian Church where Bill was recently baptized into the faith.
Bill passed away on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at his home in Oregon surrounded by his family, after a hard-fought and courageous battle with cancer.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time outdoors. He was especially proud of his children and grandchildren and loved attending their sporting events-rarely missing a game. One of the highlights of his life was watching his three kids all get inducted into the South Holt Hall of Fame for their accomplishments. Bill was also a devoted Kansas City Chiefs fan and seldom missed watching their games on TV. He always had a smile on his face and a caring heart, bringing joy to those he loved and interacted with daily. He was lovingly known as "Papa Bill" or simply "Papa" to his grandchildren, Paxton and Braelyn.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew, Joseph Prussman.
Survivors include his wife, Becky; son, Toby (Tedi) Prussman of St. Joseph, Missouri; daughters, McKenzi Prussman (fiancé Hailey Markt) of Washington, D.C., and Zoey Prussman of Oregon; brothers, Michael (Loretta) Prussman of St. Joseph, Dennis (Lori) Prussman of Gladstone, Missouri, and Dexter (Melinda) Prussman of Surfside, South Carolina; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Kenny and Linda Weis; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Debbie (Rex) Jackson, Tammy (Cory) Ashbaugh, all of Oregon, and Jodee (Neal) Prussman of Forest City, Missouri; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Mark (Brooke) Weis of Savannah, Missouri; aunt, Ruth Callow of Oregon; granddaughters, Paxton and Braelyn; and many nieces and nephews.
