Dorothy Florence Brockman 1929 ~ 2025 Stewartsville, Missouri Dorothy Florence Brockman, age 96, passed away peacefully on June 15, 2025. Born on June 2, 1929, to Henry and Florence (Hale) Yahnig, Dorothy lived a long life marked by compassion, service, and unwavering love for her community and family. On April 4, 1948, she married the love of her life, Charles Brockman, in Stewartsville, MO. Together, they built a life centered around hard work, family, raising three children and creating a home filled with love and laughter. Dorothy was a trailblazer in her time. In 1964, she proudly graduated from the very first Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) class at St. Joseph Junior College. Her nursing career spanned many years including time at the Methodist Hospital in St. Joseph and 18 devoted years working alongside pediatrician Dr. Phyllis Roberts. Even after retiring, her heart for care continued as she served as the school nurse for Stewartsville school, always ready with a kind word and gentle hand. Dorothy's dedication to her community extended beyond her nursing. She was instrumental in founding the Stewartsville food pantry, making sure no neighbor ever went without. Her legacy of giving will live on in the many lives she touched through her acts of kindness. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles; her parents, Henry and Florence; her son, Bruce Brockman; three brothers and four sisters; brother-in-law, Norwayne Brockman; great-grandson, Mason Hetz; and granddaughter, Kendra Keesaman. Dorothy is survived by her children, Keith (Barbara) Brockman and Brenda (Ken) Keesaman; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and cherished friends. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 19, 2025, at Turner Family Funeral Home of Stewartsville, with burial to follow at Stewartsville Cemetery. Visitation will be before the service from 9:30 ~ 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Dorothy will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
