Lonnie Chilcoat Obituary

Lonnie Richard Chilcoat "Rambo" 77, of St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Saturday, October 4, 2025 in St. Joseph. He was born August 4, 1948 in St. Joseph, son of the late Virginia and Lovell "Chili" Chilcoat. He graduated from Lafayette High School, and was drafted during Vietnam, where he served for two years. He went on to work at Johnson Controls for 30 years. Lonnie enjoyed playing his video games, watching action movies, listening to music, and loved fishing down at Chili Dog Cove. Lonnie was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Harold Chilcoat, James Chilcoat, and Danny Chilcoat, and sister, Sandy (Jim) Lawrence. Survivors include: sons, Ryan R. (Nicole) Chilcoat of Platte City, MO, and Job Chilcoat of Phoenix, AZ, brother, Steve (Rose) Chilcoat, sisters, Loretta (Danny) Fisher, Helen Linder, and Laura (Josh) Stines, sisters-in-law, Vicky Chilcoat and Barb Chilcoat, step-siblings, Sandy (Pat) Wolf, Mike (Barb) Young, and Paul (Terry) Young, and grandchildren, Draiden, Adler, and Evan. The family will receive friends from 1:00 - 2:00 PM on Monday, October 13, 2025 at Rupp Funeral Home. Memorial Service will follow at 2:00 PM, Pastor Leanna VanZandt-Nauman officiating.
