Ann Ruzek Obituary
Mass of Christian Burial for Ann M. Ruzek age 67 of Dodge, NE will be held on Thursday, April 3, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Dodge, NE with interment in the St. Wenceslaus Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at St. Wenceslaus Church, with a Vigil Service and Rosary at 7:00 p.m., and will continue one hour prior to the service on Thursday. Minnick Funeral Chapel in Dodge is assisting with the arrangements. The family suggests memorials be directed to St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Dodge or S.S. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Howells.
Ann passed away on Thursday, March 27, 2025 at Meridian Gardens in Columbus, NE.
Ann Marie Ruzek was born August 7, 1957 to Leander and Delma (Heimann) Brester in West Point, NE. She attended Howells Catholic Schools and graduated from Howells High School in 1976. After high school, she attended Lincoln School of Commerce and then worked in Omaha at Mutual of Omaha.
She met Joseph Ruzek, Jr. at a Rumble's dance at the Oak Ballroom in Schuyler and on July 30, 1983, they were married at S.S. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Howells, NE.
After her children were born, she worked at the Howells bank, later becoming Homestead Bank for 20 years. She also worked at the Clarkson Community Center and 2nd Street Market in Dodge.
In March of 2022, she was diagnosed with dementia. On December 5, 2023, she was admitted to Meridian Gardens Memory Care in Columbus.
Ann was a member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Dodge, she enjoyed quilting, golfing with friends and attending all of her son's activities. Her family and grandchildren held a special place in her heart.
She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Joseph of Dodge.

Ann was preceded in death by her father-Leander Brester on April 20, 2019 and her mother-Delma Brester on January 22, 2025, her parents-in-law-Joe and Bessie Ruzek, uncles-George (Katie) Brester, Joe (Mary) Brester, Gilbert (Margaret) Brester, John (Dorothy) Brester, and Kenny (Lavaine) Heimann, aunts-Bernadine (Leo) Renner, Odelia (James) Faltys, Sr. Martha Brester, and Ardyce (Dennis) Luxa, and a nephew Jay Thomas McKern.
