David Lynn McMichael age 64 of Charles City, IA died Saturday, September 6, 2025, at Crestview Group Home in Charles City.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at St. John Lutheran Church in Nashua with Deacon Jackie Schilling officiating. Interment will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery, Nashua with Jeff Ketels, Steve Ketels, Matt McMichael, Luke McMichael, Alex Larson, and Kaden McMichael serving as pallbearers.
Friends may greet the family an hour prior to the service from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the church prior to the service.

Born February 5, 1961, in Wichita Falls, Texas. David brought light and laughter into the world from the very beginning. One of four children of Jerry and Joyce McMichael. David's early years were full of adventure as the family moved across the country before making their home in Waterloo, Iowa.
For over five decades, David was a beloved member of the Comprehensive Systems family in Charles City, where he not only lived, but also thrived in his work and relationships. From the Elma workshop to the Charles City shopping mall, from the Treasure Chest to his 20-year tenure at Hy-Vee, David touched countless lives with his infectious smile and kind heart. To those who knew him, he wasn't just an employee, he was a friend and without a doubt, the true embodiment of Hy-Vee's motto: "A helpful smile in every aisle."
David was a man of joy, known for his warm greetings, unforgettable dance moves, and his love of music. He never passed up the chance to hit the dance floor and always brought energy with him. A proud participant in the Special Olympics, David earned many medals over the years in events like the "Softball Throw" and the "50M Dash".
Family was the heart of David's world. He cherished his weekends with his mom and was always the shining star at every family gathering. Whether sharing a laugh, giving a hug, or enjoying his favorite snack, a pop and a Three Musketeers bar, David brought happiness wherever he went.
David is survived by his sister Debra (Jerry) Ketels of Waterloo, IA; brother Glenn (Julie) McMichael of Nashua, IA; and nephews and niece: Jeff (Ava) Ketels, Steve (Lindsay) Ketels, Matt (Chloe) McMichael, Luke McMichael, and Sarah (Alex) Larson. David also loved his role as a great-uncle to Jace, Summer, Brayden, Addison, Kaden, Owen, Dax, Lucy, Kinley, and Landyn.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jerry and Joyce McMichael, and his brother, William McMichael.
David will forever be remembered for his sweet smile, his joyful presence, and his boundless capacity for friendship. His life was a gift to all who knew him, and his memory will continue to inspire love and laughter.
