David LaVerne Axelsen
ROCKLAND -- David LaVerne Axelsen, 79, of Rockland died Friday, Jan. 29, 2021, at Mayo Clinic Health System in La Crosse.
He was born July 29, 1941, to Walter and Alma (Pulham) Axelsen. On March 30, 1963, he married Rhea "Vicki" Jones. David enjoyed farming, raising and training horses, hunting, fishing and working in his garden. He worked at Spartek in Sparta, was owner of Axelsen Well Drilling, he was an over-the-road truck driver for more than 14 years, and also worked at Hansen's IGA in Bangor.
David is survived by two sons, Michael (Shari) Axelsen and Brian Axelsen; two grandsons, Lance and Dylan Axelsen; brothers, Donald (Kathy) Axelsen, Kenneth (Mary) Axelsen; a sister-in-law, Margie Axelsen; a brother-in-law, Larry Jones; and several nieces and nephews.
David was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; grandparents; and his brother, Darryl Axelsen.
A visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 6, at Jandt-Fredrickson Funeral Home, Hwy. 162 and Hattan St., Bangor. A private burial will be held at a later date.
